How to make an order form

  1. Add your business name and contact details, which print at the top of the form.
  2. Paste your products from a spreadsheet, or open a CSV file: code, description, pack size and price, in that order.
  3. Tick the customer details you need, such as account number, delivery date or PO number.
  4. Choose the columns, add a few blank rows for extra items, and print or save a PDF.

Tips for an order form that’s easy to use

  • Group your products. Sort the spreadsheet by category before copying, so customers find things quickly.
  • Include pack sizes. “6” or “Case of 12” saves calls asking what one unit of something means.
  • Leave blank rows for anything new or unusual, rather than having people squeeze it into the margin.
  • Reprint when prices change. Keep the spreadsheet as your master copy and make a fresh form from it.

Working out your prices

Not sure what to charge? The margin calculator works out the selling price for the margin you want, with VAT and per-unit prices for cases. For product and shelf labels, use the bulk barcode generator.

Paper or a tablet?

A printed form suits a short list with one price for everyone. When customers have their own prices, products come in cases, or forms have to be typed in again at the office, see paper order forms vs an order taking app.

Frequently asked questions

Is the order form free to use for my business?

Yes. There’s no sign-up and no watermark, and you can print as many as you like, for customers, reps, trade shows or the counter.

Can I add my products from a spreadsheet?

Yes. Put your code, description, pack size and price in four columns, select them, copy, and paste into the products box, or save the sheet as a CSV file and open it with Open a CSV file. Each row becomes a line on the form, and a heading row is skipped.

Is my CSV file uploaded?

No. Your browser reads the file on your own device, and nothing is sent to us or anyone else.

What if my product list is long?

The form runs over as many pages as it needs, up to 200 products, with the column headings repeated and page numbers at the bottom.

Can I save it as a PDF?

Yes. Click Print, then choose “Save as PDF” as the printer. You can email the PDF or print it later.

Why add barcodes?

If you or your customers scan products, a barcode of each product code makes it quick to key an order in from the form. The barcodes are Code 128, which every scanner reads.

Is my product list sent anywhere?

No. The form is made in your browser and nothing you type is sent to us or anyone else.
