These terms of use ("Terms") govern your use of the Selenic Systems Ltd website at selenicsystems.com (the "Site") and, except where separate terms are provided, our software applications (the "Apps"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

Using this website
The Site gives information about our company and our Apps, offers free tools, and lets businesses subscribe to Selenic Orders. We may update, change or withdraw any part of the Site at any time. We try to keep the Site available and its content accurate, but we don't guarantee that it will always be available or free from errors.
You agree not to:
- use the Site in any unlawful or fraudulent way, or for any harmful purpose;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, its server, or any connected system;
- interfere with or disrupt the Site, including by introducing viruses or other malicious code; or
- use automated means to scrape or overload the Site in a way that affects others.
Intellectual property
Unless stated otherwise, we own or license all intellectual property rights in the Site and its content, including text, design, graphics and the "Selenic Systems" name and branding. You may view and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. You must not reproduce, republish or exploit any part of the Site for commercial purposes without our prior written permission.
Code samples included in our documentation may be used and adapted freely in your own projects that use our Apps.
What you make with our free tools (codes, labels, charts, forms and calculations) is yours to use however you like, including commercially.
Our apps
Our Apps are distributed through third-party app stores (such as Google Play) and/or under separate agreement. Your use of an App is also subject to the relevant app store's terms and to any additional licence or end-user terms we provide for that App. Where those terms conflict with these Terms in respect of the App, the App-specific terms apply.
We may update our Apps, and features may be added, changed or removed over time. We don't guarantee that any App will be compatible with every device or configuration.
A subscription to Selenic Orders bought through the Site is governed by the Selenic Orders subscription terms, which cover payment, renewal, cancellation and the licence, and which apply in place of these Terms where the two differ. Purchases made inside an App through Google Play, such as removing the adverts from Orbit Alarm, are handled by Google Play under its own terms.
Free tools
Our free tools run in your browser. What you type into them is not sent to us. They are provided free of charge and as they are, and you are responsible for checking what they produce before you rely on it. In particular:
- test that a barcode or QR code scans correctly on the equipment that will read it, at the size and on the material you will print it on, before printing in quantity;
- the numbers inside a barcode must be ones you are entitled to use. Product numbers such as EAN, UPC, GTIN and SSCC come from GS1, and ISBNs from your national ISBN agency; our tools draw the barcode but do not issue or check the number's ownership; and
- the calculators are a guide to the arithmetic, not financial, tax or accounting advice.

The Site may link to third-party websites or resources. We provide these links for convenience and are not responsible for the content, products or practices of those third parties. Following a link is at your own risk.
Disclaimers
The Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Nothing on the Site is intended as professional advice, and you should not rely on it as such.
Our liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
Subject to that, we are not liable for any loss or damage that is not reasonably foreseeable, or for any business losses (including loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill) arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site. If you are a consumer, you have legal rights that these Terms do not affect.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data. By using the Site, you acknowledge that we process personal data as described there.
Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The version in force is the one published on this page, and we'll update the "last updated" date when we make changes. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them or the Site, are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
